Jade Esteban Estrada

You may remember Jade Esteban Estrada as the multitalented, politically

charged, gay Latino star of a one-man show in Yakima Valley Community College's diversity series last April.

Or maybe you remember him for one of the six other one-man theatrical shows he's performed in Yakima over the past four years. Well, this time he's coming to Carmen's Comedy Club for a pair of standup shows this weekend. Knowing Estrada, the shows will be anything but typical standup.

Estrada, who will speak to local high school gay-straight alliance clubs while he's in town, has an astute eye for culturally relevant material that imbues his comedy with a real-world poignancy. But he's also just plain funny, which helps audiences accept his message.

You can catch him at Carmen's at 8:00 p.m. today and Saturday. Admission is $15. Call 509-698-3000 for information or reservations. For more on Estrada, visit his website, www.getjaded.com.
