Michelangelo:

I believe that mankind is beautiful in all forms

And that is the Word of God

My name is Michelangelo Buonaratti

And I am an artist

I want to sculpt humanity

I want to paint life’s destiny

Something wonderful

 Something beautiful

But if I had my choice, you see

I’d leave the rich but honestly

Food is wonderful

Gold is beautiful

Oh but I have a dream I can find

A way to make my magic paint last for all time

If I had my wish I’d kiss all the boys and drink white wine

While I paint the Sistine Chapel

 My background...

My mom and dad were quick, real fast

To spot my talent once in class

He said “wonderful!”

She said “beautiful!”

The put me in a private school

Shut-up and paint, kid—that’s the rule

Hardly wonderful

But yet beautiful

Oh, my teacher was so kind and wise

He said, “my boy, don’t always paint within the lines!”

And “everyday that passes is your chance to shine

Within your own Sistine Chapel”

But how can I ignore this glow around me

Sometimes I get scared, I step back when I see

A world that is changing

It’s not about God anymore

It’s about us and where we’ve been

Renaissance open the door

Opening windows lets light in

I feel my heart exploding on the floor

Are we not angels wrapped in sin?

Renaissance open the door

Renaissance open the door

 My work experience...

David is the perfect man

If only he could hold my hand

He’d be wonderful

He’d be…..fucking hot...

La Pieta is the pope’s big fav

Get good with him, you’ve got it made

Life is wonderful

But not logical

Oh, Medici and Catholic life

Keep me awake, I paint and sculpt all through the night

Knowing that I’m trapped here forced to create the light

A slave to the Sistine Chapel

But how can they ignore this glow around me?

Why don’t they understand? Don’t they know? Can’t they see?

That the world is changing

It’s not about God anymore

It’s about us and where we’ve been

Renaissance open the door

Opening windows lets light in

 Exploding on the floor

Are we not angels wrapped in sin?

Renaissance open the door

Renaissance open the door

Belissmimo

Oh, Bellismimo

Oh, how can I ignore this glow around me

Sometimes I get scared, I step back when I see!

A world that is changing

It’s not about God anymore

Renaissance open the door!

Oh, oh! oh! Yeah, happiness is from your own perspective!

 Renaissance open the door

I want to sculpt humanity

I want to paint life’s destiny

Something wonderful

Something beautiful

Like the Sistine Chapel.
